Yeah! - I made this pair of earrings especially! And my African Print scarf????
This is the second day of Heidi and Marissa's Pantone-Inspired Spring Color Challenge. Today is African Violet. I love wearing violet but due to a major wardrobe renewel in the last year I don't really have any to wear at present! I am quite upset about this. :( I made these earrings from sew-on flat back gems. All I did was put a hook through the hole - they look pretty good and seem to match the Pantone chart well (I wrote a tutorial about this previously - there are two methods I showed, this is the second one further down the page). I wore my purply-blue blazer too (do you remember this from my $50 shop?) which matched well with the violet earrings.
My full outfit shot as I brave the early morning Autumn cold!
And my shoes as an afterthought. I got to get some boots.
Blazer: K Mart
Scarf: Dressing Your Truth
Skirt: Millers
Shoes: Target
Earrings: Made em'
Bangle: Diva
I just thought. I have to take a shot of my earrings as they don't show at all well here. I'll do that first thing tomorrow morning (my bed time now). Here is a similar pair I made earlier.
(And if I had a violet top, shoes, necklace and awesome rose bag)

i love your interpretation of african violet. ;) really, though, the shade of that blazer is so lovely and i love that you made a pair of earrings--i have tried my hand at making necklaces before but i just don't think i have the dexterity to manipulate beads and clasps!
ReplyDeleteAgain, you are so funny! I love that you've included a spring outfit in addition to your fall look, which by the way, is gorgeous. I love the long black skirt with such a bright pop of color. I will have to pocket these looks for the autumn! Also, I have been considering making earrings for awhile and yours are such a great idea! Thanks again for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI did earrings too, but mine aren't handmade. Nice job! I think that + the African print scarf definitely count! Also, I can't wait to dive into your blog because you look like you have a lot of great content! Glad I found you on the Pantone challenge! =)
